WPI ME3310 Introduction to Kinematic Mechanisms, Aug 2021 – Oct 2022

This project was to design and develop a kinematic mechanism out of recyclable materials as a fun, interactive kit we could send across the world. In a group of 4, we developed a mechanism kit that was essentially an air pump, utilizing the concepts of a scotch yolk mechanism. Our goal with this mechanism kit was to inflate a soccer ball, balloon, or similar toy to suitable air pressure. 

The final design and prototype allowed us to incorporate concepts of links, joints, degrees of freedom, kinematic motion, and mechanism design.
